State-of-the-Art Pain Treatment

Pain management used to be synonymous with pain pills. At Dynamic Health & Pain Management, we take a high-tech approach to healing.

Effective Pain Relief

To ensure you have access to the best solutions for your pain relief and rehabilitation, our healthcare professionals utilize the latest advances in technology to provide the most accurate diagnosis and the most comprehensive care plan possible. We provide pain relief without the complications or side effects of addictive drugs.

Below you’ll find more information about the breakthrough technology and pain management protocols we use to bring relief to patients.

Active Traction Therapy

If you suffer from chronic back pain or headaches, the medical professionals at Dynamic Health & Pain Management can administer traction therapy treatments like unweighted walking, which alleviates the pressure on the discs in your spine.

Unweighted Walking / Running

Unweighted corrective rehabilitation is another form of traction therapy that uses pneumatic power provided by a small compressor and a fitted vest to lift a portion of your weight off your body.

Removing this weight allows your body to perform low-impact kinetic exercises safely, speeding up the recovery process. Unweighted walking interrupts the acute pain cycle, takes pressure off discs, increases the proper range of motion and reinforces the body’s proper function.

This therapy actually provides the benefits of “inversion therapy” without the side effects of turning people upside-down. It is also utilized with athletes for unweighted running and/or retraining gait function.

Unweighted Corrective Rehabilitation

The healthcare professionals at Dynamic Health & Pain Management take a high-tech approach to healing. Using the latest advances in technology, like unweighted corrective rehabilitation, our pain specialists provide the most accurate diagnosis and the most comprehensive care plan possible.

Vibration Therapy

At Dynamic Health & Pain Management, we provide a variety of treatments to help Charlotte area residents with their acute and chronic pain symptoms. One of these high-tech treatments is vibration therapy. Vibration therapy affects most aspects of the body including, but not limited to, the fascia (the sheath around the tissues), joints, bones, muscles and ligaments.

Whole Body Vibration

Whole body vibration therapy utilizes low amplitude, low frequency mechanical stimulation to exercise musculoskeletal structures for the improvement of muscle strength, power, and flexibility. It also can be used to re-educate neuromuscular function, increase metabolism and bone mineralization.

Variable Vibration Therapy

Variable vibration therapy, on the other hand, focuses on a specific area of the body. Variable vibration therapy relaxes muscle spasms, tendons and ligaments, increases range of movement and flexibility and slows the formation of scar tissue.

Passive Disc and Facet Traction Therapy

In many cases, back pain stems from spinal compression that places an excessive amount of pressure on your intervertebral discs. This pressure can also cause neuropathic pain such as headaches.

At Dynamic Health & Pain Management, we provide disc and facet traction therapy, which assists in decreasing pain and inflammation along with increasing range of motion and re-hydrating spinal discs.

Traction is a modality offered by our medical professionals that applies a force that draws two adjacent bones apart from each other in order to increase their shared joint space.

Traction also stretches the soft tissue that surrounds the joint. In the spine, the elongation provided by traction allows facet joints to slide, increases circulation and relieves pressure on the spinal cord and its nerve roots.

Electrotherapy

Electrotherapy treatments can relieve pain, increase range of motion, disperse fluid and swelling as well as relieve spasms, stimulate nerves, and relax muscles. At Dynamic Health & Pain Management, our medical professionals also use electrotherapy to increase nutrient absorption to your tissues and perform muscle re-education and neural-reprogramming.

Different conditions require different types of care, which is why we offer three types of electrotherapy methods in our medical clinic:

Microcurrent – each tissue type in your body has its own signature electrical frequency, which may be disrupted by injury or disease. Microcurrent therapy restores normal frequencies within the cells, resulting in a decrease in pain, inflammation and increased functionality.

Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulators (TENS) – A TENS unit is a handheld device used at home that produces an electric current used to stimulate nerves. These units have electrodes which can be places on our around the painful area, allowing the user to adjust the intensity of the stimulation.

Interferential Current (IFC) – Interferential current is essentially a deeper form of TENS. IFC modulates a high frequency carrier waveform with the same signal produced by a TENS unit. This high frequency allows for a deeper form of electrical stimulation.

Balance & Coordination Corrective Therapy

Flexibility is essential in performing everyday activities with relative ease. Flexibility tends to deteriorate with age, and increases the chance of experiencing occasional and chronic back pain. At Dynamic Health & Pain Management, we use balance and coordination correction therapy to improve flexibility.

Without adequate flexibility, daily activities become more difficult to perform. Over time, we create body movements and posture habits that can lead to reduced mobility of joints and compromised body positions. Balance and coordination therapy involves the vestibular system, which is a contributor to our balance system and our sense of spatial orientation.

Staying active and stretching regularly helps prevent loss of mobility and can improve the quality of your life by lessening pain symptoms.

 Backsystem Therapy

This form of therapy is specifically designed to measure your body’s muscular function. Using breakthrough technology, we can determine how well your body is able to stretch your lower back, upper back, hamstrings, shoulders, chest and more in an unassisted, controlled and safe manner without simultaneously contracting opposing muscles.

Vestibular Analysis and Training

Our vestibular analysis and training program offers a comprehensive approach to evaluating and treating patients with complaints of dizziness, balance deficits and motion sensitivity.

Pinpoint Delivery of Medicine

The medical professionals at Dynamic Health & Pain Management in Charlotte, North Carolina offer pain management injections to patients as a way to alleviate acute and chronic pain. This natural or medicated injection therapy reduces swelling around or within the joints/soft tissue and interrupts how pain signals are sent to your brain.

Diagnostic ultrasound or video fluoroscopy can be utilized to more accurately visualize the source of your pain and deliver natural or medicated injections to a specific spot.

Natural Injection Therapy

Also known as myofascial trigger point therapy, natural injection therapy helps areas of the muscle that have developed hyper-sensitive zones due to the accumulation of toxins and other by-products of injury.

Video fluoroscopy can be used to confirm the source of your pain and deliver medication into spinal areas. Using this technology, we can more accurately determine where to deliver medication, resulting in a higher level of safety.

Mediated Injection Therapy

Facet Injections – used to immediately alleviate swelling in the joints and allow the vertebrae to properly move with each other.
Peripheral Nerve Blocks – used to treat areas of pain away from the spine, such as shoulders, knees, elbows and wrists.
Diagnostic, Selective Nerve Root Blocks and Epidural Steroid Blocks – a block that is performed to determine if a specific spinal nerve root is the source of pain and reduce inflammation around the nerve root, thus decreasing or relieving the pain.

Facet, Nerve, & Epidural Blocks

If you are experiencing intense pain, the medical professionals at Dynamic Health & Pain Management can provide immediate relief by using nerve blocks and epidural steroid blocks. These blocks, which are performed by injecting medicine into or around a nerve or into the spine, interrupt how pain signals are sent to your brain.

Nerve blocks may be used for several purposes, such as:

  • To determine the source of pain
  • To treat painful conditions
  • To predict how pain will respond to long-term treatments
  • For short-term pain relief after surgery and other procedures

Types of nerve blocks we use as part of our pain management protocols include:

Facet Injections – blocks the pain coming from the small joints in the neck and back.  These joints can many times be the cause of arthritis-type pain in the back and neck.

MLS Laser Therapy

MLS Laser Therapy is the use of specific wavelengths of light to treat painful and debilitating conditions. Light energy enters the damaged cells and stimulates inter-cellular activity. This reduces pain in the area and speeds up recovery of the damaged cells. Once the cells recover, the healing process is complete.

Benefits of MLS Laser Therapy include:

  • Rapid relief of pain
  • Strong anti-inflammatory effect
  • Timely healing of sprains and strains
  • Rapid recovery of structural integrity
  • Immediate improvement of local blood circulation
  • Rapid repair of superficial injuries, such as wounds and ulcers

The effects of MLS Laser Therapy are cumulative, so you can expect to see improvement as you proceed through your treatment plan. It’s critical that once you start, you complete the course of treatments recommended by your doctor or symptoms are likely to reoccur.

Computerized Chiropractic Adjustments

The human vertebral column, or the spine as we commonly refer to it, consists of 24 articulating vertebrae and 9 fused vertebrae. When you are experiencing back pain, it’s often difficult to figure out where the pain is coming from.

The healthcare professionals at Dynamic Health & Pain Management have various approaches to diagnose and treat your pain, including computerized chiropractic adjustments.

This state-of-the-art computerized spinal analysis and mobilization device measures the tissue compliance (stiffness) of each spinal joint and performs painless adjustments on specific vertebra while the patient is standing, sitting or lying down. This information is then charted graphically on a computer monitor, allowing us to see improvement in joint function over time.

Accelerated Recovery Performance (ARP) Trainer

At Dynamic Health & Pain Management, we take a high-tech approach to healing by utilizing state-of-the-art equipment like the accelerated recovery performance (ARP) trainer. These units are more commonly used by professional athletic teams and are a key component of Dynamic Health & Pain Management’s rehabilitative treatments.

The ARP trainer uses a bioelectrical current, in coordination with exercise techniques, to speed up the body’s natural recuperative ability. This technology is based on the premise that injury is the result of the muscle’s inability to absorb force.

Some of the benefits of ARP training include:

  • Relaxation of muscle spasms
  • Prevention and retardation of disuse atrophy
  • Increase of local blood circulation
  • Muscle re-education
  • Maintaining and increasing range of motion

Interactive Rehabilitaion

At Dynamic Health & Pain Management, we take a high-tech approach to healing by offering interactive and customizable rehabilitation treatments.

Our state-of-the-art medical facility is equipped with a monitored rehab system (MRS) system. This piece of breakthrough technology is a functional, dynamic cable system that will help to rehabilitate, strengthen and test upper body extremity strength, proprioceptive function and neuromuscular control.

The MRS cable system also treats neck pain, shoulder pain, mid-to-lower back pain and arm pain. Also included is the MRS functional squat machine, which treats hip pain, ankle pain, knee pain and back pain.
