Healthy New Year's Resolutions for 2015 from Dynamic Health & Pain Management

It’s estimated that only eight percent of New Year’s resolutions are kept and achieved each year. The number for health-related resolutions is probably even lower! At Dynamic Health, we know that it’s hard to make lasting changes to one’s health.

As Charlotte’s leading chronic pain management providers, we’ve found that setting small, attainable goals are the way to go when making big lifestyle changes. To celebrate “New Year – New You,” we have compiled a list of healthy New Year’s resolutions that are actually attainable!

Baby Steps

Think of every health decision as an opportunity to take a step in the right direction. If drink soda, make the conscious decision to consume one less soft drink a day and have a glass of water instead. If you rarely exercise, don’t go to the gym seven days a week – go three times. It will be easier to permanently change your habits if it isn’t a complete shock to your routine all at once.

Less Going Out, More Eating In

Many Charlotteans lead busy work lives and rely on restaurants, fast food and prepackaged food to make their meals. Consider taking time to cook more meals at home. When you cook at home, you know exactly what is going into your food and how much you are going to eat. This allows for portion control and an opportunity to make more healthy decisions!

Lose the Processed Food and Go Organic

This is perhaps the most simple way to improve your health. Processed foods are extremely high in sodium, which can be harmful to your health. By switching to fresh fruits, vegetables, and cooking ingredients and from the supermarket, you will be dramatically decreasing your salt intake.

Stand Longer, Sit Less

If you work in an office environment, you probably spend most of your day sitting at a desk in front of a computer screen. It’s important that you take several short breaks throughout your day to walk around, relax your spine and stretch the muscles in your back. Poor posture can cause chronic back and shoulder problems and could even cause internal organ problems. If you sit all day at your job, consider a standing desk or other office solution to ensure you do more standing than sitting during the day!

Set a Schedule to Workout

Finding a workout partner is the single most effective way to motivate yourself to exercise. Having a friend to keep you accountable and on schedule will make going to the gym a social event that you get physical and emotional benefit from.

Dynamic Health

If you are suffering from chronic pain, one of your New Year’s resolutions should be seeking out professionals who can help identify and treat the source of your pain. At Dynamic Health, we are dedicated to providing you with the best pain management treatments. Our SRS Therapy™ (Spinal Reconditioning System) protocols incorporate a combination of diagnostics, injections, rehabilitative treatments and chiropractic adjustments.
